Meet Jeff Martin
Psalm 121 Counseling was founded by Jeff Martin, a dedicated biblical counselor passionate about helping others find healing through God’s love and wisdom. With years of experience in faith-based counseling and a deep understanding of the challenges faced by individuals, couples, and families, Jeff provides compassionate guidance grounded in biblical principles.
Jeff’s journey to biblical counseling was shaped by his faith and life experiences. After starting his career as a special education teacher and later transitioning to roles as a national sales manager and real estate broker, Jeff witnessed the growing mental health needs in his community, particularly in the aftermath of COVID-19. Through prayer and reflection, he felt called to study biblical counseling, earning his layman’s certificate and opening Psalm 121 Counseling to serve those seeking hope and healing.
A follower of Jesus, Jeff is devoted to his wife, Debra, their two grown daughters, and six grandchildren. His counseling approach is warm, nonjudgmental, and tailored to each person’s unique needs, ensuring clients feel safe, valued, and supported. Jeff views his work as a ministry, using God’s Word to provide the tools and encouragement needed to navigate life’s challenges.
Two Bible verses central to Jeff’s mission are Psalm 121:1-2—“I lift up my eyes to the mountains—where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth”—and Joshua 1:9—“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” These verses reflect Jeff’s reliance on God’s presence and sufficiency in all things, forming the foundation of Psalm 121 Counseling.
